Special support for those who need it

Some children need more support than others in managing their schoolwork. These needs may have physical, mental and social causes – they may be temporary needs or something that the student requires help with throughout their time at school. It is the headteacher who decides whether a student needs special support and makes sure that the school draws up an action programme.

Compulsory education for students with learning disabilities is designed specifically for students who are considered unable to manage the knowledge requirements of compulsory school due to intellectual disabilities. If your child attends compulsory education for students with learning disabilities, they will follow the syllabuses of that school form, whichever of our municipal schools you choose. The Education Administration decides which children attend compulsory education for students with learning disabilities.
