General Information

Progress Meetings and Grading
Once every term there is a progress meeting where the student, parents and the teacher discuss the school situation, the achievments and further progress of the student.

The National Curriculum consists of Achievement Goals for Years 3, 6 and 9. Please refer to the section -  Students/Parents - Curriculum - for detailed information.

School Rules and Regulations
Rödaberg School expects all students and guardians to read, sign and follow the written information and rules you get when the student starts school. We also expect all students to behave in accordance with these rules, to attend all lessons except when ill and to carry out the homework assigned to them.

PTA
Rödaberg School has a PTA-organization with two parent-members from each class. Seven of the members also participate on the Advisory Board where the principal discusses important matters with teachers, students and parents.

Student Care
The school nurse, the school counsellor, the special needs teachers and the assistant principal work together in a team to provide help and support for students with special needs. It is important that special needs are stated in the application so the school has a possibility to prepare its support program.

Health Care
The school nurses work here Monday to Friday and the school doctor comes in every second Wednesday.

Anti-bullying
Rödaberg School works actively against bullying. We have an anti-bullying team consisting of seven teachers, and a pamphlet about the work and the names of the group members is given to each family. Years 4 to 9 have two Class Supporters each - students who work together with the anti-bullying team.

The After School Center
For children in Years 1 to 3 there is an After School Center where children can stay until 6 p.m. There is a fee which is dependent on the salary of the parents and the highest sum is 840 Skr per month. You have to fill in a special application for the After School Center.
For students in Years 4 to 6 there is the Afternoon Club. It has less staff than the After School Center and the children are not so closely monitored. The fee is 1000 Skr per term and includes a daily afternoon snack.

The School Day
School starts at 8.20 a.m. All grades have a recess period from 9:20 to 9:40 and a 55 to 60 minute lunch break and, if they have a long day, a second recess for 10 minutes in the afternoon.
A warm meal, sallad, bread, butter and milk is served every day in the cafeteria. Students with allergies, vegetarians and those with other food restrictions, get special food.
The school day finishes at different times for different grades.
The lessons are generally 60 minutes long.

The amount of hours per week for each year are:

  1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
Total 14 16.5 17.5 19 18.5 20.5 22 23.5 22.5
